Connect Ministry

Simply put, the Connect Ministry is structured to help people ‘connect’: to form those relationships of sacrifice and love we hear so much about in the Bible but see too little of in the world. Connect is essentially is a small group ministry... a collection of ‘connect’ groups and the primary means our church leadership will shepherd our congregation.

Getting Involved

Small group ministry depends a great deal on the chemistry among a group of people and it is nearly impossible to orchestrate. As a result, we will not assign people to a particular small group or define them based on geography or stage of life. However, we do see geography and stage of life as helpful categories in recruiting people into this ministry. If you are already in a small group/mini-flock, great! Keeping going to that ministry.

If you are looking for deeper community, take a look at the existing small groups described in the brochure attached to this page. Note the time it meets, the general geography of where it meets, and the general stage of life of the folks who attend. Also note that we are starting six new small groups in the fall. There should be two or three ministries that fit your life circumstances. Also, leaders may contact you and invite you to their small group. Don’t stress if you get more than one invitation. LPC is simply trying to provide options to best ensure your participation.

Shepherding Elders

Elders will have an important role in the Connect Ministry. Elders may not lead or facilitate every Connect Group, but there will be an elder associated with every group. If an elder is not in your small group, one will be assigned to assist your leaders and occasionally attend your group so you can get to know ‘your elder.’

Now, go explore your options! Contact the leaders of the small groups you want to know more about and then try it out. The leaders of LPC are doing what they can to be faithful to their call as shepherds and care for the flock. It is now in your hands to respond. We hope to see you at a Connect Group soon!
